ATM I have got two comps connectedd directly together with a cat5 crossover cable. i plan to get a hub and more cable for the other comps i have but my question is:
can i use the crossover cable to connect a pc to the hub or will i need to get another piece of normal cat5 to do it? Thanks in advance, RossO

You can use the x-over by plugging it into the uplink port, but you should use a straight thru to avoid confusion of anyone helping you or coming in behind you. What'er ya...tryin' to save $5?

LOL, well kind of. The cross over cable cost me 15 quid and I wont be using it when i get the hub etc. For some reason prices on certain things in britain are way over. network cables work out about 2 quid a metre for normal cat5 and more for x over, i got a 5 metre for 15 quid.
Ok enough with that rant, I was mainly just interested as when theres something i dont know (especially with computers) i get frustrated until i do know =)
