Can I use a Belkin Router with my MiFi 2200

Specs: Windows XP & 7, 4 gig min
I recently purchased a Verizon MiFi 2200 to replace my around my house. The MiFi seems to work very well with one exception, the actual wireless range its giving me. My house is rather large, and has a huge hallway. I have read several post talking about the use of either a Linksys, Belkin, or other name brand routers that seem to work well in extending the MiFi's range. Can anyne shine in on this and possibly explain to me how to hook this up? I currently have a desktop which we had to purchase a Netgear Wireless Device in order to make it wireless. The other computers in the house are laptops and have their own wireless built-in. I'm thinking that for example b using my old Belkin Router, and placing it 1/2 way down the hall in my home, it would extend the signal from the MiFi? If so, what do you plug the Belkin in to?

Thanks for any suggestions
