Comment: hello. I was wondering if this was a possibility. I want to ask first because I always mess stuff up and I have to go back and fix it later. Anyways heres the deal. At my college in the dorms we are running wireless. It acts as internet as well as lan. I was wondering, can I set up a private lan through a cisco 11mbps ethernet base station and my friends pick up both internet from the college and my lan signal? I guess what Im asking is can a wireless card handle two signals at once. I want a private lan so we can play games in my room. Thanks

Reply: (edit)Sort of. You can't "multitask" a wireless NIC: you'll have to install a 2nd NIC in your PC and enable Internet Connection Sharing. Set your friend's NIC to feed off of your machine's 2nd NIC and he'll be on a private network with you and use your ICS connection to talk to the school's LAN.
