Can I connect my router to my laptop?

Specs: Windows Vista
I have a router connected to my computer for the many laptops and netbooks used in my home. My computer is down for a bit. I have an internet card, but no one else can use their laptops/netbooks. Can I also connect my router to my laptop for multiple use in the household?

Computers get connected to routers, not routers to computers. If you had setup the network correctly, the fact that your PC isn't running, wouldn't matter. Connect everything to the router directly. It doesn't matter if it's wired or wireless. If you need more ports, buy a switch. If your router isn't wireless, it's time to buy one.

If you already set up a network with router, all you computers or laptops should connect directly to the router in order to access internet. This is an example of wireless network setup tutorial, probably you can take a look.

Hope this helps.
