Can a TV interference with d-link wifi router

Specs: Windows 7
I have a Panasonic Viera plasma tv (with no Wi-Fi) and as soon as i turn it on my wireless internet drops. It is a d-link 615 with a netgear modem attached. i cant find anything on the internet about it, have even tried changing every channel on the router and still no luck. have you heard of this before?

Are they both on the same circuit? In other words, on the same breaker? If so, run an extension to another part of the house, just as a test.

how close is the tv and router/modem to each other?
Is the tv networked [wired]?

I have the same problem with a dg834g v3 netgear router, it is on the same table as the 50" samsung plasma, and I have it wired and the connection drops, but was fine before I got the plasma!
