Comment: A friend of mine has networked two PC's successfully, bith with WinXP. He has been told he can use the internet on BOTH pc's at the same time (i.e view separate websites simultaneously. Is this right. In other words, can He AND his wife use the internet at the same time ? He has tried, but can't seem to get it to work. Thanks in advance

Reply: (edit)You have to install the internet connection sharing protocol, in addition to the tcp/ip protocol. If this is dialup, it will be fairly slow with two online at the same time.

Reply: (edit)Two other ways... 1. Router.. Add a router then 2 pcs will be going outside individually. 2. Proxy server. If you use dial up, then just run one software on one machine, and use the proxy server ip address for other machine. If you use lan, then you should add another network card to the one which is already going to the internet.. Again, of course, no. 1 is more efficient way to do it. check with www.linksys.com for detail. A router is very cheap nowadays.

Reply: (edit)Yes, yes and yes. Here's how, a detailled step by step review of what you need and how to do it: www.ozcableguy.com Forget routers and proxy servers, it's a truckload of nonsense, everything is built right into XP off the shelf. Enjoy
