Hi. I have a small home network that has the following components:
-Cable Modem
-Cable Router
-3 PC'sI recently moved one of the PCs. To do this I installed a new network outlet in the room, and ran the cable back to the router and plugged it in. I plugged the PC into the new outlet, and it kept telling me "A network cable is disconnected." So my first thought was that there was a problem with the wiring in the new outlet, because the PC works fine when it's plugged directly into the router. But I took the cable that goes to the new outlet and plugged it directly into the cable modem, and the PC worked fine, outlet and all. But once again, when it gets plugged into the router, the computer can't see the connection. Yet strangely enough, the router knows the computer is plugged in and turned on. All of my other computers and outlets work fine through the router. Any suggestions?

That is a tough one. Wonder if you have it connected into an uplink port rather than a standard port on the router. The difference being that the uplink port has the TX and RX pins reversed..if the router has another port try to plug into it or if there is a select button on the port try the second setting (some ports come with the option to switch from uplink to stnd).
