Would it possable to put two separate cable modems in two seperate rooms and connect them via coaxial cable thats already existing in the wall? In short, can you have two cable modems(not being used for internet) and connect them by a coaxial cable and still get connectivity through the computers attached to the cable modems?same with DSL modems?
Im not really planning on doing this, ive just been wondering if its possable!

Not that I'm aware of. Would be a waste of hardware too. You could get two wireless network cards and run an ad-hoc network between the two without any modems.
I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.
