Cable and DSL on same network

I have 10 computers in the house on a Switch connected to a router connected to a cable modem. I want to add a business Static IP DSL line to the network so that 2 or 3 of the computers will use the DSL and the rest will use the Cable modem. What is the best way yo do this. Could I add another router for the DSL but turn off DHCP on that one? Am I off base here? Or is there some other way to do this?

You could do that. Plug the DSL into the router and the router into the switch, give the router a static IP address in the same range as the network. Change the Gateway address on the clients you want to use DSL to that of the router.
Alternatively, you could give the clients you want on the DSL a second NIC and configure them and the router with IP addressing in a different range from the cable network. This way they could still communicate on the LAN and access the internet via the DSL. NOTE: in this case, you'ld want to remove the Gateway address from the NIC on the cable network.

Personally I would have a router on each the dsl and the cable. They would both connect to a switch. I would turn off dhcp on both routers. Set one routers lan set to x.x.x.1 and the other to x.x.x.2. Manually set the ip address for each pc in the same x.x.x.x ip range. On the pcs you want connected to dsl put the dsl gateway. One the pcs you want on cable put the cable gateway address. very simple and straightforward. if one fails just change the gateway address on the pc to the one that is up.

I either case, where do I enter the verizon information for my STATIC IP? They gave me IP, gateway and DNS addresses. Do these go into the Router for the DSL or the computers that are going to use the DSL?
