Reply: (edit)You just want to network the two thinkpads with each other? All you need for that is a couple of pcmcia network cards and a crossover ethernet cable.

Reply: (edit)To add additional computers to the network, you will need a switch. This performs the same basic function as a hub, but much more efficiently. From your point of view, this means "faster".
