Comment:

What do I look for as the most probable causes when my browser and wireless network suddenly stop talking to each other. The signal strength indication from my wireless network is more than adequate, yet when I open the browser [Windows Explorer or Firefox], it now comes up with "server not found" or messages to that effect.

id set a ping going to the router and one to the internet both with the -t option(continuous). when your browser stops working check the pings and if the router is still replying but the internet is not its your internet connection. if both stop its the wireless..
