I see that there are thousands of questions about broadcom 802.11b/g wlan trouble issues. I have an HP Pavilion dv2000 and about 3 months ago my network adapter just disapeared. I have gone through all the troubleshooting and recovery that you can do and I have not found a solution to my problem yet. I have contacted HP Solutions and found that they would repair my mother board at a cost due to waranty out and 3 yrs old, and keep for 6-8 weeks to do so. I have found multiple fixes, flashes, driver repair wireless network help and have to go through multiple runs just to get my network adapter to work again. But I can get it to work again with these fixes through Explorer. My question is: is there a permanent fix that is downloadable?

I have got the same problem! my broadcom 802.11b/g wlan has stopped working over last few weeks! it started with the screen freezing and you have to manually restart. then the wireless suddenly stopped working! the light is orange, it doesnt appear in device manager, and cannot connect wireless to the internet! i have done a system recovery and this has not solved the problem! it does sometimes appear in device manager in safe mode only! anyone know whats causing this!!???

i actually found a solution to the broadcom wireless 802.11... i realized after the hectic switching between xp and vista that there is an update affecting the broadcom wireless 802.11 b/g... so wut i did is that i disabled and hid all the updates that are found after doing a recovery on my dv6409... now my wireless and laptop both run like a charm.
