Hi! wonder if you guys have encountered this problem. Halfway surfing the net, then all of a sudden cannot surf.(Cannot open page) This never happened before. It just comes in like that. My ISP says nothing is wrong with their servers so i suspect it's coming from my side. Could it be line condition or my USB modem? The symptoms are like this : 1) Connect to ISP (connection ICON shows up at bottom right) 2) Typing IPCONFIG, an ip address is assigned. 3) Leave idle for a while or while surfing, get 'disconnected' (But icon still present) 4) Check IPCONFIG and IP address is no more there. (0.0.0.0)
However, i do notice if i keep a continuous ping to the internet i can somehow prevent that kind of 'disconnection'. My ISP tells me that they do not disconnect users like that, so i suspect it's either line or USB modem. What do you guys think? Thanks!!

Probably your modem, I remember I had a big problem with My Speedtouch modem about 18 months back. Make sure you have the up to date drivers for the modem and the USB controller.
also if you are overclocking, the problem may be the PCI Bus speed, try without o/c and see what happens
