I have a Trendnet TEW-672GR in my home connected to the cable modem, wired to 2 pcs, and wirelessly to a laptop. The wireless signal reaches the neighboring house, but coverage is spotty.

I'm hoping to setup my SMC WBR14-N in the neighbors house to enhance wireless coverage, and add another wired computer. Both routers appear to support WDS, however I have not been able to figure out the exact settings to get the two talking to each other.

Currently both are set to the 255.255.255.0 subnet mask. Ip of the Trend net is 192.168.10.1. Ip of the SMC is 192.168.10.2. Trend net dhcp server is set for 192.168.10.100 to 192.168.10.200 for ip range. SMC dhcp server is disabled. Both are using the same SSID, bandwidth, and channel. Each has the others ap mac address entered in the WPS configuration.

Not sure if it matters but I'm currently trying to get both routers talking in the same building before placing at opposite locations.

Any help resolving this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Unless the Trendnet TEW-672GR has network bridging software built into it's firmware as a configuration option, then you will not be about to connect these two routers together. You need at least one of the routers capable of working as a bridge.
