Bridging two laptops

Specs: Windows XP, 1.6g / 512m
Morning all, I have two laptops with wifi capability and both running WXP Pro SP2. At home I have a router.

My 1st laptop receives real time data and the 2nd, by entering in the 1st's ip address also receives the same data with this program.

I am spending some time at a hotel that has a hot spot and am able to receive the data on the first laptop.
Question: What is the procedure to get the 2nd to recognize the 1st.

Many thanks...

You would connect the two via a crossover cable and the lan cards to then create a network between the two. You may have to bridge the wifi and wired lans in the primary laptop for the 2nd to read the data.
