Hi guys, i've been dealing with a bridging problem and i wanted to throw out a few questions because i'm a noob in this area of networking. I have a cayman 3220 dsl modem running NAT and DHCP...supplying an address to a Netgear router. The Cayman has a static ip from the isp, and does not run pppoe. The netgear router doesn't run dhcp, the computers get their addresses from a windows server. I want to remote manage the netgear router but I cant seem to get to it. I want to bridge the connection from the modem to the netgear router, i read the bridging instructions but i dont seem to comprehend one part...when i bridge the two devices, does that mean i have to manually give the netgear router the cayman modem's "real" ip address, or can it still get a 192.168.xxx.xxx address from the cayman modem ? I was told that i shouldn't run double subnets or double nat...i tried to configure the pinholes "port forwarding" with no luck. Is bridging what I need and what should the resulting config be ? Thanks
