I was wondering if it was possible to, not boot from, but physically turn on a powered down LAN connected computer. What I'm aiming for is to turn on a Windows XP computer on my LAN when it's off. Does anyone know if it's possible?

Hi! It's possible, but you need a nic and a mainboard who support it. First you must connect the nic with your mainboard. You need little cable.. Sometimes this cable comes with your nic.
After that turn the boot sequence to "boot from lan" in your bios and you need a software who send a "MagicPacket" (LANStart for example).
