Ok, I have a notebook that has no CD drive only a floppy drive, so I managed to get to MS DOS using the floppy drive, now I was wondering what would I have to do be able to boot the notebook from my Desktop's CD drive which I have set to shared on the network. The notebook is a Compaq Presario 2800 and my desktop is running Windows Vista Ultimate x64.
PS. The notebook has some PXE option or something but im not too sure what PXE is, so if someone could clarify that for me that would be great. Thank you for your time.

You can't boot your laptop from your desktops cd. So you can forget that route.
What you can do is create a network boot diskette that you can then map a drive to the shared cd drive.
Vista may present some challenges with its evolved rights management.
Google network boot diskette for the how to
Google define: pxe or pxe boot for what pxe does.Example of Oxymoron:
Person who is pro life and anti sex education.
Education is key to prevention. Prevent conception you prevent abortion.Abstinence training clearly isn't working.

Get barts network floppy. Pretty easy to follow.
If you want to pxe that is a whole different deal. Not worth the trouble unless you want to put linux/bsd/solaris on it.
"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

I wrote this guide about installing Windows XP/Vista on a M200 computer (which also lacks a CD drive): http://blog.ryantadams.com/2008/02/...
You'll probably have to adapt it to meet your needs.
