Can I run two 10/100 network cards and bond them to make my transfer speed faster to my switch? I have seen it done with modems to make two 56k's to a maximum 112k when running dual phone lines. Will it allow me to send files faster to multiple computers? I just want a faster connection for my server without buying a gigabyte 10/100/1000 nic.

Ethernet channel bonding? Outside of a cluster environment, I understand channel bonding between a "bonded" machine and an "unbonded" machine to produce no speed advantage. In Linux, it requires a patch to the kernel (for the device queue) which handles the stripping of data between the NICs below the IP level.

Are you pressing 100MB/sec? Are you on an OC line?

There are routers that can utilize two Internet lines (ex. two adsl lines) at once. If you have two connections, this can be effective.

If you are serving two (or more) segments, the router can add the same advantage. A cheaper way would be to use two network cards, one for each segment.
