Does anyone know how to block IM services such as MSN and YIM on a Linksys WRT54G? My colleagues are abusing the messaging services, and my boss asked me to block it.

Don't let him make YOU the bad guy. Tell him to create a policy and send it to the workers. If they don't follow it, it's his problem, not yours.
