Ok so here's the deal, i have a very very basic network in my house 2 pcs both with win2k pro on them. networking worked fine no problems. just a simple cat5 cable conecting two networking cards. I had my gf's computer to fix it and i just simply unplugged all the cables from my computer and hooked hers up no problem didn't use the network. so i go to hook mine back up and when it loads it goes to the desktop but keeps telling me that i have all new hardware. it detects everything as new and i have to install the ethernet usb...and some other driver. i found this really really odd since it has never happened before. so i do all that and everything else is the same i go to surf the net and nothing. the network has failed. on the host computer it shows that the lan is running but my computer isnt receiving anything. how would i go about restablishing the connection to my computer....or if something else is wrong please any help would be terrific. thanks dusty
