Ok guys i am posting this hear because it is a networking problem but i think it may be a problem with SP2 as well.

Okay
first off i have just installed XP and put on SP2 straight away when i reboot after the SP2 install i cnaot get on the Internet i am also running a ICS network with 2 lap tops and a pc with XP Pro SP2 for the laptops and ME for the Pc. Now the server that is my pc will in no way connect to the internet however the 2 laptops will as does the me pc this is a big problem for me as i use my pc alot for university work and so on so any help on this subjet would be much apreciated.

I have already tryed the following:

1. Re install of SP2
2. Total format of os partition
3. Setting up the ICS again

The newtowrk will work before the sp2 so maby it is a problem with that but i has worked before with sp2 so i dont know why it wont work now and it is pritty strange that the client pcs work but not the server.

Anybody with info can you please help me any help would be much apreciated.

did you try turning off the Windows Firewall that comes in SP2? I had to do that on my machines w/ XP. I have another firewall and the combination of them were not playing well together

start/settings/controlpanel/security center

Only my XP machines wouldn't work, my 98 and ME machines functioned properly.

Just a thought, HTH
