I installed CerberusFTP and have it running on my puter. Problem I am having is that when someone tries to log in, it asks for the password and UN but never shows the files? I can access from my computer (FTP server) but my wifes laptop (on network) cant see anything...it just hangs and looks for the files..my brother tried from work also and he couldnt get in either, asks for PW and connects but no files...I assume its getting thru the firewall and router is forwarded...what am I missing?

Do you have both TCP Ports 20 and 21 behind forwarded through your router to your FTP Server? FTP uses both of those ports.

Also re-check the configuration of the FTP server.
Might see also Filezilla FTP server and client. Also there is a different approach, Barracudaserver. Barracuda lets you use a bit of more secure connection and you don't have to play with the nat as much if at all.
I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.
