hi,

i'm trying to share a printer and files between my desktop (xp pro, 2.4 ghz & 256 mb ram) and my laptop (xp pro, 300 MHz, 160 mb ram) thru a linksys router. i click set up a home or small office network on both with the same work group name and when i click view work group computers (even after restarting) it takes a while, but i only see the desktop if im on the desktop and laptop if im on the computer. when i try the wizard first time on the laptop n desktop, i got the error message saying it cannot complete the wizard and i had to do it manually. but when i did it the second time, i didnt get the error. now, when i use both computers, i get an error saying theres an ip address conflict. what do i do? someone help me set up the network to share files and a printer. any help is appreciated.

thx

What are the IP addresses of the computers? Try setting static IP's. 192.168.1.100 and 101.

Turn off XP Internet Connection Firewall.
