I am new to all this and recently installed a belkin 4 port cable router. I currently have road runner and am able to receive mail. Whenever I send mail, I get an error message then I completely get disconnected from the internet. I have spoken to road runner tech support but they could not resolve my problem. I am using outlook and outlook express. Please help!

My Belkin router also disconnects when I send email or log into certain web sites. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem with my connection timing out. I finally got a hold of tech support at Belkin. You have to update your firmware. Go to www.belkin.com/firmware and download the upgrade and docs and it should fix the problem. I did mine yesterday and it seems to be working....good luck.

Forget this router, I'm sending it back...I updated the firmware on the site, as well as set my modem to 100tx full-duplex instead of autosensing, and I have a dynamic IP address and I still have my connection timing out.
I have to shut of the router and turn it back on to get some data flowing through, but then it stops after about 30 minutes.

When I plug my computer directly into the cable modem, my woes are instantly gone.

Cute design, crappy product, does not do it's job. I hear the UPS truck coming now to pick this thing up.

I bought the belkin on price. It sits on a telecom shelf in the basement, so I don't care about design. My throughput went through the floor once it was hooked up. AIM drops out ocassionally now when it never did before. If tech support can't offer me some advice, back to CompUSA it goes.

I already updated the firmware to v1.20.
