|I'm tempted to blame your router as they are notoriously unreliable whatever the brand, unless you buy one of the really expensive ones like those branded "Billion" models.|
My Netgear worked flawlessly for 2.5 years and than it just wouldn't connect. New router connected straight away but that failed too after just 6 months.
Then BT sent me a free one, that lasted a month.
Current Netgear is working fine after 3 months use and still okay, but If it failed tomorrow I wouldn't be surprised, so I have two new ones still boxed, as backup.
Heat is usually the culprit, especially with routers that can't be stood vertically. The heat damages the components gradually over time.
May take weeks, months or a few years.
