Hi, I want to make a bat file that tests if the computer is connected to the network. I was thinking maybe pinging a switch. Is it possible to do something like this: "ping 10.1.2.3 IF Response do nothing Else Display popup"

Hi, Well what i want to do is display a popup if a computer on the domain/network is not connected. So when i get contacted saying a computer isnt working they will know if it has a network connection. It only has to do it at startup, just after login to check. Can you recomend anything for this? I dont think whats up gold can do that? if it can which version? Cheers

I think you're overcomplicating things. If a user calls you saying they have no connectivity, knowing they had connectivity at bootup doesn't help you troubleshoot an issue that arises later in the day.

Hi, Were are having severe network issuses at the moment, this is just another tool we would like to use. Users are not getting their network drives and printers sometimes so if they know they have no network they can check if the network lead is pluged in a lit up.
Any ideas? Cheers
