We are planning to put up our own web/email server. Since it should be up 24/7, we need to have a back-up ISP for it to be online 24/7. What networking equipment or software will i use to switch between ISP1 to ISP2 vice versa if incase one of them is down. Any knowledge, ideas, tips advice on putting up our own web/email server will be highly apreciated by me. Thanks in Advance. God bless you all.

Hejlejluyah, or there abouts.
Symantec has a product that might be to your interest. It is a Symantec 200 VPN/Firewall appliance. It has two WAN ports on it with autmatic failover capability. So what you can do is get two different WAN providers, a primary and maybe a cheaper, less expensive secondary, and connect both providers to the WAN ports on the router. Then setup some type of software on the server that detects the WAN IP address being used. Set it up so that if the primary WAN connection fails and the router fails over to the other WAN port, which will have a different IP address, that it alerts you so that you can contact whoever is hosting your domain name and change the IP address associated with the domain name.
A free piece of software that will do this is Direct Update.
http://www.directupdate.netThis software will send an email if it detects a change, and if you have email text messaging on your cell phone, then even better. It will even automatically update the IP address associated with the domain name if you are using one of the many services it has listed that it can automatically log into and change for you.
