I want to know if I can set up some folder over
the internet that allows me to save files that
can be accessed by someone else several
miles away on their home computer.

I have a webcam that automatically saves a
video file from a motion-controlled trigger, and
it automatically saves the video files to a
specified folder. Basically I want it to save it to
a folder that I can then access from a different
computer so the burglar doesn't make off with
the evidence when he takes my laptop :)

Thanks for your time!

Your post generates a few questions. How are you so sure that someone is going to steal your laptop? Why aren't you protecting the laptop as much as the file & folder in question? What does the so called evidence actually contain? Is the laptop password protected or does it boot to the desktop? What's wrong with saving the file to the local PC & have an FTP backup to the remote computer, on a scheduled task?

How do you know when a politician is lying? His mouth is moving.
