ask for username and password

Specs: Windows 2000

Hi, I basically have 3 computers networked together in my house to share files and printers. They all have Windows 2000 Professional running in the same Workgroup. On one computer, everytime I want to access the other two it always asks me to enter the username and password of that computer. After I enter the username and password then it's fine until I reboot/log off the computer then it will asks me to enter them again if I want to access. This does not happen on the other two computers. All I do is double on the computer I want to access the shared files and I'm in. Surprisingly, the computer that always requires me to enter username/password is logged in as "Administrator". I even tried to log in as somebody else but that does not fix the problem. Not a big issue but just annoying that I have to enter username/password for that computer I want to access all the time. Please help me out. Thank you.

Actually, I prefer it that way. It's more secure especially if you have a wireless router.

Usually, when the PC is set to require a login at boot time, is when it requires it for shares. You can change it in the control panel under users and passwords, change the way a user.....

hi,
i dont knwo whether it is possible in 2000 as i havent worked on it..
if there is 'security' tab on the shared folder's properties..

provide them with full permission for EVERYONE for all the shared folders in the that PC...
** dont specify any users other than Every one***

so that it willl not ask for passwords..
