I am trying to get Internet on second computer , I have both computers talking to one another but cannot get Internet access. I have phoned Aol and they say I need a router. I have used a crossover cable. Can anyone tell me if I can get round the problem. I have set the IP address to 192.168.0.1 and on client 192.168.0.2. Still no joy . Is there a way ?

i dont think that u need router if u have both computers at same place or room. if u have both computers on same room then u need a lan card on the computer that connects on internet. just connect the second computer through cable with first one by lan card. then in dialup connection of the internet connected computer , enable internet connection sharing or ICS. then open your internet explorer or whichever browser u r using, goto proxy setting and check the autodetect option, thats it. if it wont work then contact again.
