I am using AOL broadband through a cable modem. My desktop is a P4 1.6G with 784M DDR2100, and my laptop is a new one, Athlon-XP 1600 with 256M DDR2100. I have a wireless router, D-link 614+, but I just want to use the ports on it. Unfortunately. the AOL technical service told me I can not use D-link router, because they don't know how to set it up. They said I can only use either linksys or netgear routers. Faint.
Anybody has an idea how to use my D-link 614+ to share internet connection through AOL broadband? Thanks a lot.

I've setup AOL broadband using the Linsys router, which was software upgraded. Your router may work if you can figure out the settings. First go the the AOL site and read all the setup for broadband sharing. Then goto Linksys site and read the features of the Linksys version capabilities. I installed my Linksys without enabling the AOL user security.

I also met this kind of problem. And I found the answer from the internet. They told me don't insert the red cable into the WAN port, but into the ethernet port, like port 1. then it will work. I set up my Dlink DI-614+ with AOL broadband, and it works very good.
