I have a desktop and a laptop networked with a crossover cable. the desktop has AOL on it. i want to share the internet connection. well really all i want is to beable to sign online on the desktop and use internet explorer on the laptop. can someone help me out. thanks

posting a follow-up to my own question.
can someone tell me the steps to take. I sign online with aol on the desktop/server. then i want to use internet explorer to browse the internet on the other computers. but i sign online on the desktop and then when i click on internet explorer on my laptop to brings up a page saying The page cant be displayed. i have it set to autodetect my settings. Ive never worked with networks before and this has been fun. thanks to anyone who can help.
