Anyone else here experiencing problems with D-Link routers?
My first router was a simple 10/100mbps wired router, and it broke in less than a year. My second router, which is the one I'm using now, is a D-Link wireless-g router, and now it's starting to drop the connection just like the first one did when it was starting to die. It's getting worse, too. Now it disconnects twice a day. It's a little over a year old, so it's lasting longer than the first one did.Am I just unlucky here, or is it common knowledge to stay away from D-Link?

I have a D-Link DI-604 (wired) that I've had and used continuously for 2 years and have had no trouble whatsoever.
My experience with D-Link has been all good. Your issues with wireless could be something other than the router breaking.
Try resetting both your router and your modem. Just unplug them, leave them powered off for 10 seconds, then plug them back in and see if that doesn't improve things.

I have had two D-Link routers. The first one (704P) lasted about 2 years and I replaced it with my current one (604) which has lasted longer than that. However, I later found out that the original one was perfectly fine - it was just the power brick that had malfunctioned.

It's definitely the router.
It started off dropping both wired and wireless connections about once a week. Now it's dropping out twice a day. This is the same thing that happened with my first D-Link before it finally wouldn't connect at all.Pentium III--Descendant of Intel Core.

Other than ensuring the router is not in a place with extreme temperatures and has sufficient airflow around it, there's not much else you can do.
Perhaps there is a power quality issue where it is plugged in. Or, you just had bad luck and got two lemons.
You just never know with computer equipment. I had a high-end Antec PSU that quit after about 6 months. I replaced it under the warranty and the replacement quit also after about 6 months (Just over the original warrantly). Needless to say I didn't buy a new Antec. But, that doesn't meant they don't produce quality products. Could be that line had issues or something.
