Have any of you more knowledgeable computer
people used the Blitzz Wireless Products that you purchase at Wal-Mart? What type of Quality is this stuff? It sure is a lot cheaper in cost compared to the major brands....of course this may be a simple case of you get what you pay for.Joel

This may not help much but they used to make Blitz Weinhard beer in Portland and it was pretty poor quality.
Sorry Joel - I couldn't help myself.

Have you compared their prices to more recognizable brands on the Internet? If they are fairly close I'd go with a name brand even if you have to wait a few days.

Yeah, I have a blitzz usb wireless network card, works just as good as the linksys usb wireless network card that I have. If it is significantly cheaper go with the blitzz. You are not going to have a noticable difference in performance. I wouldn't recommend the routers because linksys routers are about the same price and are better, more configureable piece of hardware. If considering, or using linux i would recommend to go with a pci card, and possibly even a name brand because name brands are more likely to be supported or get supported. Hope this helps?!

My roommates and I have been using the G4 Base router with the 4 port hub including wireless and we haven't had a problem with it yet. My only complaint is that to access the router's settings via IE sucks especially when attempting to connect from a hub based connection but when connecting to the router settings from a wireless source there is no problem at all. The wireless is definately a bit slower at 1.1 MB/s so I wouldn't plan to be using it for gaming. The real reason we purchase it was for the wireless capabilities which are great. I have maintained a 50%+ connection sitting in my car with my notebook on the dash and I would say that that is nearly 50-75 feet away from the router. A problem that we have run into is that friends will come over and camp on our porch mooching our internet connection. We have attempted to use the 64 bit and 128 bit encryption but only seems to work with a Blitzz network card which both my roommate and I are using in our notebooks. Hope this helps.
