This is really begining to annoy me and so far the advice i've been given isn't working!

When you double click on the Internet Explorer you get a box labelled 'Dial up connection' which shows your connections, username password etc.
Whenever you are not connected that box will appear and you can reconnect

Recently that box has completley gone!
When I double click on the interner explorer icon or when my internet is disconnected I get a nex box saying 'Work offline - No connection to the internet is currently available...'

My broadband has a tendency to suddenly cut off which means that without the original Dial up box appearing reconnection is a bitch!

I've checked the 'connections' tab in the properties and everything seems to be ok.

Why is this happening?
Where has the original dial up box gone?
Why is this new box appearing telling me there in no internet connection?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Are you saying that you have a dialup connection and a broadband connection? You can only set internet explorer to one or the other.

try start > connect to ... and then choose what you want to connect to. then you can use internet explorer or whatever.
if it doesnt come up, or there are no options in the box, click show all connections. click create new connection, and enter all the relevant information to re-create the connection, and thr dial-up box should then come up when you start an application which requires internet access.
if you're unsure about the phone mumber, check your phone bill or reintall your software (if applicable) as a couple of suggestions.
