Hello
I've tied myself up in knotts so far and am at my wits end.
I'm trying to set these up to work together.
I would like the AM200 do just be a modem(no dhcp etc) and pass the internet to the WRT54GL.
I can get the AM200 onto the internet(hence I'm posting) but cannot get the WRT54GL to pass it on.
The AM200 has a half bridge mode(what is this?) but even that does not work.
I somehow managed to get an IP into the WRT54GL from the AM200 but no internet access?
I'm now very confused and the kids may have to go to bed without any internet and supper.
Please help
ps
I've googled but got even more confused.

Have you logged into the router setup to check its settings? To log into your WRT54GL, type http://192.168.1.1 in the address window of your browser, and hit the Enter key on your keyboard. That should bring you to a logon screen (if not, there's another problem). At the logon screen, use "target" as your username [without the quotes] and "admin" as your password [without the quotes]. Once logged in, you may have to check & change some of the settings. First thing is to see if you can even log in.

We don't want that to happen!
I take it that the AM200 is a modem provided by your Internet Service Provider, and when you connect directly to the modem, you can get on the Internet? Your modem should have a network cable connected to the WAN port on the WRT54GL. Do you have another network cable connecting the network port on the back of the PC nearest the router to a regular LAN port on the router itself? Just trying to figure out how your system is set up.
