Subject: Alternate software to Wingate
OS: Windows Xp
CPU/Ram: Intel Pentium 4 3.0 GHZ -
Model/Manufacturer: Intel
Comment:
Hi everyone.

I have been using Wingate 6.2 Trial to use two internet connections at the same time on my pc to increase my overall Internet Bandwidth. But now as the trial period is over, and I don't need all the advanced features of Wingate and neither can buy it, can someone please tell a software which can help me use two Internet connections at the same time on Windows XP. In Wingate, I set up a Proxy service, and used the two internet connections as "Gateways", and then Binded to local loop only.

Thanks

There are plenty of bsd/linux/solaris
setups and some premade virtual machines.

There are also commercial boxes that do
that. Some are about $70 or so and it goes
up to enterprise level stuff.

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.

Almost any linux, bsd or solaris can do what you want. Most offer server editions that are for up to enterprise level services. Start with vmware's site, distrowatch and search engines for the words you need.

I really appreciate the linux idea, but thats a long shot for me for now, but I might do it eventually. Though last time I tried Ubuntu 3 years back, I couldn't even get it to connect to Internet or find drivers for my modem.

I would really appreciate if someone gave a solution for windows right now. (I found a topic with Wingate v3 keys, but they don't work on 6.2.2 :S )

Thanks

I have finally Installed Ubuntu Gutsy and I am using it as my main OS for few days. I´ve posted on a few Linux/Ubuntu forums about how to use two Internet connections at the same time, but received no responses.

My connections use two different USB modems, and I use wvdial to connect.

Please tell how to use both of them, as you said any Linux will do it.

Thanks
