Hello everybody

I am hoping somebody can help me. i am having massive problems with my broadband at home. I cant install my alcatel speedtouch usb modem on to my pc.

the computer installs the modem but it says it cannot install speedtouch networking support. In device manager it says that there is a code 28 error. i have tried installing the software again and again.

my modem says that it is not plugged in although it is found by the new hardawre wizard. It installs the drivers then tries to install "networkin support" this then fails, everytime. Ive completley uninstalled and re installed loads of times.
i have tried everything i can think off so can somebody please help me

cheers

Ian

Usually with XP it is advisable to install the drivers and software first. Then reboot and install the hardware.

I would remove the device from Device Manager and then remove the modem, and try reinstalling the way I outlined above.
