Aircard 300 static IP problems

I have an Aircard 300 in a Tablet PC computer. When the system boots to Windows I intermittantly get 0.0.0.0 for the IP even though I have a static IP setup. I'm checking the IP under Network Connections page by hightlighting the CDPD connection and looking in the details section of the window. Any idea why this would occur or suggestions on how to eliminate or minimize the failure. Thanks, Greg
