My computers are connected to a D-Link Dl-704P router.

My router is connected to my DSL modem, using Verizon DSL as my provider.

I can use AIM Talk/Image with people and it works fine, but I'm having problems getting it to work with one of my friends.

He has a 14.4 modem and is on AOL.

We used to be able to AIM talk/image transfer fine, but one day it stopped working, and neither of us changed anything.

A week or 2 later, it worked again for about a day, but then stopped working again and hasn't worked since.

I've tried setting the AIM Talk/Image ports via the virtual host settings in the dlink admin area (same as port forwarding on other routers), i've also tried using the "special app" settings which allows you to set trigger ports and incoming ports. This also failed. I then even tried setting my PC as the DMZ host to bypass the firewall completely, that didn't work.

The only way I'm able to talk/connect to him is if I dial my other ISP with my 56k modem. If I'm on dialup, it works fine.

I would like to get AIM Talk/Image working over my DSL/Router so that I can browse the web while in AIM talk and not have to worry about it skipping.

So, does anyone know how to get AIM talk/image to work with a d-link router.

Also, does anyone know if AOL or Verizon might have changed something that causes AIM image/talk to no longer function?
