AIM file transfer with win98 ICS

Comment:
I networked my friends' two computers this weekend so they could share their cable modem connection. The PC connected to the cable modem is running Win98. I have it running win98 ICS and connected the other computer to a 2nd NIC with a crossover cable. Everything seems fine except that now they can not establish a connection to do file transfers over AIM (gives them firewall as a reason) on the computer hooked up with the crossover cable (running XP). Anyone have any advice? Thanks

Hey Mike... By GW I assume you mean gateway? The gateway is set to the win98 machine. She can browse web sites, check email, and sign onto AIM on the XP machine - she just can't make connections for file transfers over AIM. I assume its a port issue but I don't know much about that.

by default the lan connection on XP will be "firewalled", try turning it off (in advanced properties I think)
