Advanced server 2K Vs XP Pro

hello everyone, i have an advanced server 2k and the XP Pro as client.. it took me about 3-5 minutes to logon the server from the XP machine.. i set up the server as domain controller. server IP 192.168.0.1 client 192.....2 Subnet 255.255.255.0 the DNS and WINS of XP are empty...
is there anyway can logon faster ?? one more thing, i create the new user acct for the server, but i can't logon the server with that user acct, only Admin group can login. it said LOCAL SECURITY POLICY something i don't remember.. from the USER RIGHT i let EVERYONE log on locally. help, help please

You probably need to install and setup DNS on the server and add the DNS server's address on the TCP/IP settings on the client.
By default, only members of the administrators group can log on locally to a DC. You need to give your account the right to log on locally in Domain Controller Policy or Local Security Policy.
