You would use "Remote Desktop Connection" (RDC) which you can find:

Start >> Programs >> Accessories >> Communications

You would have to do some setup work first before being able to connect. You will have to:

1) Allow RDC connections on the target PC. While you're on it, open a command prompt window (Start >> Run, then type cmd and hit [Enter]) and type the following command: ipconfig /all
This will show your IP address, write it down, you'll need it for the next step.

2) Connect to the management interface of the router. Once logged into it, find the port forward part of it. Create a forward which directs port 3389 (RDC port number) to the IP address of the PC you wish to connect to.

3) Open a web browser on any PC in your network and go to the "What's my IP" website to find out your external IP address (aka: internet address) and write it down and take that to work with you.

Once you've done the above correctly, all you should need to do at work is open RDC, enter your external IP address and click the connect button.
