For the past two weeks I've been having a problem connecting to the internet through my ZyXEL Prestige 645M-UHP, ADSL modem. Every morning, somewhere around 7-9 a.m. (possible the same time every morning, not sure) my connection drops, and doesn't reconnect until exactly 7 p.m., every day. The modem is apparantly trying to connect all day, but can't establish a connection. Disconnecting it from the computers/router completely, so that the modem is directly wired to the phone jack does not help, nor does resetting the modem. The same thing happens with every phone jack in the house, even with all my phones unplugged. During the time that the modem can't connect, I have a normal dial tone (I SOMETIMES hear static in the background, but even when I don't it wont't connect) and can make phone calls, although when I try to connect via dial-up it's only able to connect at a greatly reduced speed. Oh, and my ISP is Earthlink. Thanks in advance.

Nothing you can fix at your end. Call earthlink or whoever you get your adsl from for support

Did you by chance, get to playing around with your user profile and change the settings in there to allow a connection only at that time?
Happens all the time.

I just thought with an ADSL it might not really be trying to connect, just sending it's keep alive flash, which it would do even if the computer itself was not connected.
I'm probably wrong.
