I'm trying to install an ADSL connection at a friend's...they've a D-Link modem (DSL-300T) which is fine, and the connection works fine. The IP for the modem is 192.168.1.1

However they also want wireless, and have a Netgear WPN824 wireless router...IP ALSO 192.168.1.1

How can I get them to both work together?! I cannot seem to do it, I've tried playing around with DHCP on both, trying DHCP on one device only disabled, but I can't get anything.

Is it even possible?

Many thanks,
Ed

How are you getting the Netgear is at 192.168.1.1? Usually Netgears are at 192.168.0.1.

You can change the netgear's lan ip address range by going into the router and changing the lan ip scope to 192.168.0.x so it doesn't conflict with the .1.1 ip range of the modem.

Give a person a fish, they eat for a day. Suggest they internet search and they learn a skill for a lifetime.

DHCP should be enabled on the DLink Modem, the router needs to be setup to receive an IP address from the modem, this should be in the manuals.....
