Hi guys,
I want to setup a VPN through the Internet for three remote users. I am going to use a WIN2k server for everything including the incoming VPN connections. I envisage that the three remote users will have ISDN connections to the Internet.
If this is the case is it a good idea to have an ADSL connection to my Win2k VPN server?
What i'm really asking is - beacuse the ADSL connection can take in 512K inbound traffice, will this mean that the three users can take full advantage of their bandwidth on the ISDN connection?
The way I envisage this setup it seems to me like it will be pretty efficient. Can you guys foresee any problems or do you think it would be a waste of money to have the ADSL connection?
Cheers,
Conor Buckley

ADSL will most likely be a lot cheaper than setting up with Dial Up.
Your logic is sound, but don't forget as an ADSL connection is by name Asynchronous, it receives data at 2 times its ability to deliver! SO anyone downloading only has the potential of 256Kbps access to your server.

Cheers for that Brian - I just want to make sure before I go and buy the ADSL connection.
So imagine if say user number 1 dials in to the VPN server (ADSL) through his ISDN connection to the Internet he will be able to use his full bandwidth?
That also means that if three people are downloading at once from the VPN server they will only have 1/3 of 256Kbps each?
