Hi,
Anyone know If I can do this and if I should expect problems with ADSL and dialup being used simultaneously on one line?

I've encountered problems when switching users over from dialup to DSL/Cable. Generally speaking, when you go to access the internet the dialup box opens up and wants to connect. Therefore, as a rule of thumb, when doing so, I delete the dialup. I don't know if you can find a way to have both working that doesn't involve recreating the dialup every time you want to use it. Good luck in your search!

It will work without any problems. You will have to configure your dial up to "Never Dial a connection". That way you will always default to the ADSL connection.
If you need the dial up up at the same time as the broadband you can connect manually from Network Connections.
It is no different than making a conventional phone call when the ADSL is active.

Perhaps I should have mentioned that the dialup would not be to an ISP, but direct to our own server. So the dialup would strictly be a manual connection. From your responses, it sounds like that should work fine.
