Ok, the phone company didn't follow instructions and this is how it look right now!
ADSL line installed wrong end of office.
Yes I can patch it, But they have 1st installed this line as a fax line and it's already patched in to a Reception area.
To make this worse they only installed one analogue line! This line at the moment has to share Fax, Franking machine and answer phone.
Don’t laugh too hard, it get worse…!The Server is 30m away from the ADSL line!
The Router can not be moved as it needs to be near its users as signal get week this far away perhaps because of the building construction!Question:
How can I patch/connect in the ADSL line to the Reception area and Server cab 30m away at the same time?
Only I can think of but never tried is use a small Hub to split but never tried this and it sounds a bit mad!Help please as I have to get it running Monday/tomorrow?

do you think one of those incoming phone line connection managers would work??
its an small box with power supply, that has phone jack, fax jack, modem jack. i've install those in stores around here.
i have one in a box sitting on the shelf still.
any computer store should still have those.

Just extend the phone line to your server and place the ADSL modem there. Another 30 meters of phone line shouldn't affect the signal. Or you can run an ethernet cable from the ADSL modem to your server, that additional cable should work also with no problems.

Hi and thanx very much for the reply guys.

Have you got a make and model for that box trix? Cheers.

Yes as I need the Router next to the Server because of week signal and that's where the Users are, that was my 1st choice!I prefer the extend the phone cable option, BUT.
The other thing the phone company haven't done is fit a phone box on the patch, they have patched it in behind the patch! so just a normal looking RJ45 patch socket to plug into!
Actually thinking about it like you said, if I patch that ADSL/hope it is an ADSL port to the Server and just get "for wont of a better name" the phone company to run a new line from 30m away direct to Reception that would fix it! Right? This would mean I'm running an extra 30m of CAT5 to the Server/Router then another 30m phone cable back to Reception.
Will there be problems with the phone, fax, answer-phone?
Does that extra 30m of phone cable count as an extension of the CAT5 etc?...
Thanx for any further thought on this, only 10 hours before office opens!
