I have an ibm laptop with cisco 11b adapter, and a desktop with a d-link 11b adapter. i've set up an ad-hoc network between them, and it basically works (i can share files and use the ICS). however, is stays connected for only 30-40 seconds at a time, and suddently disconnects (signal strength and quality are very good and *at once* drop to 0). i can immediately reconnect with no problem, but again - it disconnects after 30-40 secs, and so on..... any ideas?

their may be a definate solution for this, but when their are obsticles in between access point and wireless adapter problems arise i have 54G, put 2 plaster board walls in the way at space of 5 metres and it cuts off every few mins, then cums back straight away Jaymc.co.nr

thanks, but i don't think that this is the problem. it disconnects even when the 2 computers are 1 meter away, with nothing in between......
